Forever House, Gurgaon

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana

Status: In Development

Client: Private

Site Area: 4 acres

Built-Up Area: 6500 sqft.

Designing in idyllic locales requires restraint and care. This was embodied in the brief from the clients who wanted to build their “Forever Home” at the foothills of the Aravalli mountains outside Gurgaon.

The house is designed as 2 linear overlapping blocks, staggered sectionally, to negotiate the existing terrain and maximise views of the man made pond on site (an earlier landscape exploration by the clients) and the scenic backdrop beyond.

The formal expression of the Residence and its massing is an extension of the need for restraint, with its minimal proportions seeking to blend in to the surroundings rather than standing out - the perfect retreat for the clients to immerse themselves in the idyllic environment around them.

The Lower level constitutes the Public arm of the Residence with a large living area that opens out to the Pool deck. The Upper level contains the Private spaces for the family with the sectional staggering affording them peace & isolation with a large front garden (the roof of the floor below) and a massive Backyard which was possible due to the compact-ness and efficiency of the Floor Plan.
